Attorney Jeffrey R. Mazor

Jeffrey R. Mazor holds B.A., M.B.A. and J.D. degrees from University of Florida, Florida State University and Oxford University. He has practiced law in his native South Florida for over 30 years, and is the firm's Senior Partner.

Mr. Mazor has served as director, committee member, and guest speaker on the national and local levels for The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), The Residential and the Commercial Societies of Realtors, The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), The Florida Bar, The Industrial Association of Dade County (IADC), The Southeast Florida Apartment Association (SEFAA), The Florida Asset Management Association (FAMA) and other organizations.

He has authored numerous articles for local and national journals, such as the National Association of Realtors' "Real Estate Today", the Institute of Real Estate Management's "Journal of Property Management", The National Apartment Association's "Units", and NAIOP's "Development", and has had articles in or been cited as authority in such Florida publications as The South Florida Business Journal, The Florida Real Estate Journal, The Miami Herald, Miami Today, Facilities Today and others.

Attorney Nancy J. Chamides

Nancy Chamides graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University in 1990, with a degree in Finance and a minor in Chinese. In 1993, Ms. Chamides earned her Juris Doctor degree from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. While attending law school, Ms. Chamides studied international business law at the University of Hong Kong School of Law. She also interned for a bankruptcy judge in the Southern District of New York and was a member of The Law Review.

Ms. Chamides became a member of the New Jersey Bar and the New York Bar in 1993 and 1994 respectively. Ms. Chamides then joined a mid-size law firm in New York City and worked in the firm's real estate practice group. She specialized in representing domestic lenders in the financing of large commercial real estate projects.

She became a member of the Florida Bar after moving to Florida in 2002, and joined a small firm focusing her practice on all aspects of commercial real estate and residential transactions. Her clients included individuals, developers, lenders and businesses. Ms. Chamides now practices at J.R. Mazor & Associates, P.A. and concentrates on handling landlord and tenant issues, as well as other related real estate matters and corporate issues.

Karen Rock
Legal Assistant

Karen Rock joined J.R. Mazor & Associates, P.A. in 1994. Karen primarily works in the areas of Civil and Commercial litigation and Landlord Tenant matters. Her expertise is delivering quality and detail-oriented services to every client. Her dedication and professionalism show are obvious to all our clients. Karen is no stranger to the legal profession. Before joining J.R. Mazor & Associates, P.A., Karen worked as a legal assistant with other South Florida law firms. Karen has a total of over 20 years of experience and has sheparded an estimated 20,000+ eviction cases through to completion. In her spare time Karen enjoys spending time with her two daughters.

KatherinE De Peña
Legal Assistant

Katherine De Peña holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Nova Southeastern University and an Associate of Science Degree in Legal Assisting from Broward College. She was born in Puerto Rico and is bilingual. She assists the attorneys with all aspects of the Firm's practices including civil litigation, landlord/tenant actions, transactional work. She has 5 plus years of legal experience which include work in family law, litigation, and collection law. Katherine is a member of the National Association for Legal Assistants (NALA). In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son and exercising.
